Max Verstappen has won a thrilling Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, Italy. The Red Bull driver started from pole position and led for much of the race, but came under pressure from Sergio Perez in the closing stages. Verstappen crossed the line just 0.7 seconds ahead of his teammate to take his second win of the season.

Charles Leclerc finished third for Ferrari, but was unable to challenge for the win after a slow start. The Monegasque driver made a mistake on the opening lap and dropped down to fourth. He was able to pass Lando Norris for third, but could not close the gap to Perez. Leclerc's teammate, Carlos Sainz, finished fourth after a disappointing race. The Spaniard made a number of mistakes and was never in contention for the win.

The race was marred by a number of incidents. On the opening lap, there was a collision between George Russell and Mick Schumacher. Russell was forced to retire from the race, while Schumacher was able to continue. There was also a safety car period after a crash involving Nicholas Latifi and Fernando Alonso. Alonso was able to continue, but Latifi was forced to retire.
